FAQs

Generally, the assessments are pain-free but some may cause mild discomfort depending on how complex your issue is. It’s important to give your physiotherapist feedback on how the assessments are feeling, as this will help them determine what tests to do and will help narrow down the options to find the true cause of the symptoms.

Your physio will discuss all of the suitable treatment options with you and your loved ones if present, and together with the physio, you will decide which treatments you’d like to undertake. No treatment is compulsory, and all of them are designed to improve your health and wellbeing, helping you to reach your goals. If you would prefer not to have a particular type of treatment for any reason, simply let your physiotherapist know.

In addition to this, Proactive provides regular and ongoing training and professional development for all of our team to extend their expertise and ensure their skills and knowledge are kept up-to-date with the latest developments in research in the field of sports science. This is important to us both so that we can best serve our clients in developing exercise programmes to address medical conditions and injuries, as well as ensuring our team is well supported in their own professional development and career progression.

This varies widely from person to person depending on which bodily system is involved, the complexity of the condition, and how long you’ve had the symptoms. Following your first appointment, your physiotherapist will outline a rough estimate of how many sessions they think you will need to have and will re-evaluate this as the treatment continues.
